Odd Socks Day Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entrants must comply with all terms and conditions and rules of the competition to be eligible for the prize.

  2. The Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week Competition is open to schools within England only.

  3. To enter the competition schools must include #AntiBullyingWeek and #OddSocks and tag @abaonline into the tweet.

  4. By entering this competition you are giving the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) a royalty free licence to feature the winning photo/ post on the ABA and Andy and the Odd Socks website and social media networks throuhgtout the world.

  5. The Anti-Bullying Alliance reserves the right to edit the winning images/posts

  6. The winning post will be uploaded to the Anti-Bullying Alliance website, Twitter account, Facebook page and used in Anti-Bullying Week content.

  7. It is the school’s responsibility to obtain the consent of those taking part and that of their parents in the case of children involved in the images/videos used in the posts ensuring that all participants are aware of what will be involved in the competition. The Anti-Bullying Alliance and Andy and the Odd Socks are not responsible for securing consent from those who appear in content entered.

  8. In the interests of child protection, any credits added to content or names displayed must contain first names only.

  9. ABA is not responsible or liable for 1) any entries which do not reach us as a result of software or hardware failure including lost network connection; 2) failed, returned or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information given to us by the entrant; 3) entries or responses to winners notification which are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, misdirected, damaged or not received due to technical error (including computer or mobile phone), proof of sending is not proof; 4) entries made fraudulently.

  10. All video clips must contain appropriate content and imagery.

  11. All video clips must respect copyright law. We prefer original music and video content. If you wish to use others’ copyrighted material (e.g. music) you must obtain written permission from the copyright holder prior to the submission of your film.

  12. The winner will be selected by Andy Day on 20th November and announced shortly after.

  13. The judge's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

  14. ABA will use reasonable endeavours to contact the winner, if we are unable to contact them (for any reason) within forty eight hours of the judging of the competition or the entrant is unable to participate in the prize for whatever reason (including without limitation illness or scheduling) then winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize and ABA will be entitled (but not obliged) to choose another winner from the remaining entrants or use the prize for another competition.

  15. There is no cash or any other alternative to any prize.

  16. The winning school will receive a visit from Andy Day and his band Andy and the Odd Socks within 2018. If we are unable to secure a mutually agreeable date we reserve the right to withdraw the offer and select another winner.

  17. The winning school must be able to accommodate Andy and the Oddsocks and have a full health and safety check prior to the performance.  

  18. The winning school will adhere to the reasonable requests and instruction by Andy and the Oddsocks and have public liability insurance and be prepared to get a licence form the council for live music and potentially have a PRS or PPL licence or both.  

  19. Unless prohibited by law entry to the completion constitutes permission to use winner’s name and likeness in all media for publicity purposes without further compensation.

  20. All data will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy.

  21. By entering this competition you will be deemed to have read, understood, accepted and agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules, to confirm all laws and regulations.

  22. By entering, participants, winners and persons accompanying the winner agree to release and hold harmless ABA, Andy and the Oddsocks Ltd and their parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand or other liability that may arise from their entering (or attempting to enter) this Competition and/ or acceptance and/ or use of the prize and/ or their participation in this promotion (including without limitation any loss caused by any errors or changes made by third party providers) or from any misuses or malfunction of any prize or breach by any party of the Official Contest Rules.  Nothing in the Official Contest Rules will however limited ABA’s liability for death and personal injury caused by their employees or agent’s negligence or for fraud.

  23. These Official Contest Rule shall be governed by English law and by entering this Competition all entrants agree that all disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Courts of Justice.
