Lauren Seager Smith, Coordinator of the Anti-Bullying Alliance
(ABA), said: "The Ofsted report 'No place for bullying' makes it
clear that schools which value difference, promote empathy, train
their staff and listen to their pupils are successful in tackling
bullying.
"Sadly not all schools are up to standard and the ABA
is shocked to see that racist, homophobic and disabilist
bullying remains unchecked. ABA works to raise awareness of
bullying and co-ordinates national Anti-Bullying Week - this year
taking place 19-23 November.
"ABA is calling on every school, every child and every
parent to take a stand against this issue. Children and young
people who experience bullying need to know they can speak out,
that they will be heard, and that they will be taken
seriously."
